Worship can be defined as the act of lifting your mind and heart to God. We believe that worship is not limited to what we sing or the services we attend- worship is a lifestyle. It is giving praise to God in all that we do.
We worship during services by singing, clapping, praying, and reading His word. The Bible is full of commands to worship God joyfully.
Ps. 47:1 Clap your hands, all you nations; shout to God with cries of joy.
Ps. 32:11 Rejoice in the Lord and be glad, you righteous; sing, all you who are upright in heart!
Ps. 66:1-2 Shout with joy to God, all the earth! Sing the glory of His name; make His praise glorious!
Psalm 150 1 Praise the Lord, Praise God in his sanctuary; praise Him in His mighty heavens. 2 Praise Him for His acts of power; praise Him for His surpassing greatness. 3 Praise Him with the sounding of the trumpet, praise Him with the harp and lyre, 4 Praise Him with tambourine and dancing, praise Him with the strings and flute, 5 Praise Him with the clash of cymbals, praise Him with resounding cymbals. 6 Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.
We also woship Him by serving Him daily. Not just on Sunday, but every day! You may think, "I don't have anything to offer God". That is impossible- God created each and every one of us with a purpose. Every person has something God can use. You just need to be willing to let Him.
I Corinthians 6:20 reads, "For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's." It is not about us- it is all about Him. We owe everything we have to God.
God created the Universe. Psalm 22:1 says, "Let the godly sing with joy to the Lord, for it is fitting to praise Him". If someone does something nice for you, don't you thank them for it? Worship is a way we can give something back to God. He is deserving of our praise.
The Bible commands us to praise Him. There are many different ways to worship God. Sometimes we need to be reverent and quiet, other times we should shout and clap. God accepts all our praises, as long as we are sincere. You should not worry about what others think- He is all that matters. If you feel like shouting, SHOUT! He will deal with those who judge in His own time. He is worthy of ALL our praise!
