Smart Choice has a unique process of bulk purchasing and central distribution points which allow us to provide substantial savings to individuals and families with our food boxes. This process allows our “Smart” box to nutritiously feed a family of four for almost a week or a senior citizen for nearly a month.
These food boxes are not a hand-out but an opportunity for those who want to stretch their dollar. The “Smart” box contains over 20 lbs of nutritious, top quality food and may include beef, chicken, seafood, sometimes pork, vegetables, fruit, snack items, juices and other items. This box of food could cost $60 to $80 or more at a local grocery store.
“Smart Choice” food boxes are offered through local Host Site locations – such as faith-based organizations and churches, companies, outreach or community action programs. Any type organization, non-profit or for profit, may participate as a Host Site.
